As Marketing Lead I’m in charge of Social Media and am happily using the free version of Hootsuite. I especially like the handy “Publisher” Feature which allows me to write one post for different Social Media channels. I love, that I can still adapt the tracking link for every Social Media channel individually. It is a huge time saver.

Also, I love the calendar view with the scheduled posts. You get everything at a glance and the whole team is up to date.

Additionally, it helps us to monitor the social media as we track keywords with the monitoring service.

To sum it up, I think the free version of Hootsuite is a good tool for small businesses with limited Marketing budget.

Among the most social media popular management tools are:

✓ Hootsuite
Hootsuite is an easy-to-use social media manager. Users are given access to a single dashboard with the most popular social media platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. You can manage and schedule your posts, receive important updates, follow people, share posts, and more. Hootsuite helps you reach all your social feeds at the same time, regardless of your location.

✓ Buffer
Buffer offers a plan through which you can craft and schedule posts for all social media networks. Just like Hootsuite, it supports Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and even Instagram, a platform that has proved tricky to integrate in the past. Buffer’s dashboard differs from Hootsuite in that it shows only the timeline of your posts, without facilitating further interaction with the above platforms.

✓ CoSchedule
CoSchedule is a complex system that manages team tasks and projects and offers social media management tools as well. Like the previous tools, CoSchedule’s platform enables users to create a timely content map. As a bonus, you can build a holistic social campaign for your brand using its tools.

✓ Cincopa
Last but not least is Cincopa, a multimedia hosting platform with a variety of marketing tools. Cincopa enables you to host all sorts of media assets online: Videos, images, audios, presentations, and documents. It makes it easy to share and integrate your media content with a variety of platforms using social buttons, or by copying a direct URL. Additionally, you can track video interaction on social platforms using built-in video analytics.

✓ Sprout Social
After testing and trying a variety of different platforms over the last 18 months, Sprout Social’s easy to use platform stood out for me. Before, I was using various different tools for different channels. It was hard to manage and confusing.

Sprout gave me the ability to manage our 4 main social media platforms in one, this included posting, scheduling and reporting. It was easy to get started and you’re provided with a very helpful Sprout expert who you can chat with to ask any questions.

The tool has a wide variety of features that you can use to help manage your social media. Teams are able to collaborate on tasks or work individually on work assigned to them, you’re able to view all mentions and messages in one place and it has numerous listening features. These include seeing posts from specific keywords or hashtags you follow.

Personally, some of my favourite and most used features are that you’re able to see all scheduled posts in a clear calendar where you can make any changes instantly. I also like that sprout offers an optimal posting schedule to enable you to get the maximum reach from your posts.

For a tool that includes such a high range of features, Sprout Social is also very competitively priced which for me sealed the deal.

Catherine Campbell

Founder & Director of Strategy - Bright Planning

✓ CoSchedule
Because we’re an agency that provides social media management to multiple clients, we need a tool that allows us to quickly toggle back and forth between client accounts and marketing calendars. Fortunately, CoSchedule does just that.

They have plans that allow us to scale up or down with project growth at a moment’s notice, and they include integrations such as WordPress, Mailchimp and more, making it easy for us to visually plan, move, and track social media posts associated with any campaign. They also provide automated and manually generated social media reports that you can break down by platform and send to your clients.

✓ Agency Analytics
Agency Analytics is an all-in-one analytics tool so you can pull all of your analytics into one place, including local sources, reputation platforms, call trackers, search consoles, SEO tools, and social media platforms.

They just added Instagram reporting, which makes it easy now for us to provide a monthly comprehensive performance report to our clients rather than having to send them 10 reports from 10 difference sources.

✓ Buffer
I recommend new online business owners to use Buffer since it’s free. They allow a bunch of social media channels and let you schedule up to 10 things in each of your queues. Most likely you will soon outgrow their free plan and have to upgrade but at $8 per month, it’s a bargain. We used them for 3 years with our online business and loved how simple and easy to use it was. They also provide some great insights as to what times to post, reach, clickthrough rate, etc.

We recently switched over to SmarterQueue to make things a little less hands-on and created evergreen posting schedule. It’s been great so far and has saved us hours upon hours of work being able to set up posts to auto-rotate every couple of months.

Nice article! Out of all the Instagram tools that I’ve used, I love using Planoly for auto-posting. I talk about this in my Planoly Review, but it offers a lot of functionality beyond just auto posting content, ranging from its hashtag discovery tool, built-in analytics dashboard, and even auto-posting videos and Instagram stories.
