✓ HootsuiteAs Marketing Lead I’m in charge of Social Media and am happily using the free version of Hootsuite. I especially like the handy “Publisher” Feature which allows me to write one post for different Social Media channels. I love, that I can still adapt the tracking link for every Social Media channel individually. It is a huge time saver. Also, I love the calendar view with the scheduled posts. You get everything at a glance and the whole team is up to date.Additionally, it helps us to monitor the social media as we track keywords with the monitoring service. To sum it up, I think the free version of Hootsuite is a good tool for small businesses with limited Marketing budget.

Umarah Hussain

PR & Outreach Executive - Colewood

Our main two tools that are used every day are Hootsuite and Buffer due to how versatile they are.

✓ Hootsuite
Hootsuite is a massive social media management tool used by millions of companies across the globe. Here at Colewood we use it to monitor an array of keywords and schedule social media posts out-of-office hours. The tool works great with Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram and WordPress.

✓ Buffer
On the other hand, we utilise Buffer as it offers you features in which you can Reply to social inboxes. We love Buffer due to how clean and intuitive it is. It allows to keep posts in refined order, giving our social media and content team the collaboration skills to work together efficiently.

Marketing Specialist - BreatheWeb.com

Social media itself is a very powerful tool for content promotion. But if to add some other complementary tools, you can get the spectacular results. During my career in digital marketing, I’ve tried many tools and I think I could recommend some of them.

Here’s one I like: If you want to reach more leads, you should definitely consider using hashtags in your marketing campaign. Using the right hashtags is key to getting in front of your target audiences.

✓ RiteTag
RiteTag is a Chrome extension and web app that tells you which hashtags to use to be seen now, which will help you be seen over time, and which ones to avoid. This tool is great for getting more leads to your post. The right hashtags can fill the top of the funnel, leading people to specialized content or landing pages that would have otherwise never known about your product or service.

✓ HootSuite
In order to manage multiple clients, it’s important to stay organized. I love using Hootsuite. The platform is free up to three channels and after that, they have very reasonable annual fees based on how many accounts you have. You can publish directly to Instagram, which many platforms CANNOT do. This was a big win for us.

With Hootsuite, you can schedule content, create analytics reports to track your account’s progress (engagement, likes, followers, etc.) and create streams that are basically a homepage for all published posts, scheduled posts, and any posts that contain hashtags that are relevant to your brand or business. Super helpful!

✓ Sendible
We’ve tried out quite a few social media management tools and it boils down to a handful that we use the most. The one that we really love is Sendible, for several reasons. First, it has the highest number of available networks – 20.

The second reason is that it supports WordPress so that we can plug in all of our latest posts and they immediately get scheduled when a post goes live. Finally, the ability to monitor keywords across our social media accounts is great. Basically, when someone uses the word “pricing”, we immediately get a ping and our sales team is on it. Overall, it’s not just one tool, it’s an entire stack of tools that performs incredibly well.

Social media is the main source of generating traffic nowadays because of its ability to connect with the audience and customers. This also requires to manage social media in a more creative way.

Following are the best tools to be used by social media managers:

✓ Buffer
Personally my favorite tool for managing all my social media posts. Buffer has the ability to schedule a certain onto the peak times of social media usage. We target different audiences in different regions. Currently, we are working in Canada and the United States. So, there are different time zones. Buffer allows us to schedule our posts, and provide the detailed analytics of the engagements on the post.

Pricing: It has two different pricing plans, it all depends upon the usage of the application. Starter plan and business plan. If you a bigger company, than I suggest you go with the business plan. For a small company, they offer a free version also, with limitations.

Trello
Its task-oriented application on which we gather all the necessary tasks for the day and disperse it towards our employees. It’s a great platform for productivity and being efficient at work.

Pricing: Its a free application for the task manager.

✓ Canva
An online content creation tool, it helps a lot in making those post for social media. If you don’t have any knowledge of hardcore designing skills such as Photoshop or Illustrator. You can create the post on Canva and download it in any quality that pleases you. It allows to integrate with any social media platform, popular ones are Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. It has many free templates and also they provide the paid version for the templates.

Pricing: It’s free to use and comes with a paid version of templates.

✓ IFTTT
I highly recommend using IFTTT.com with your website. IFTTT helps you automate the tiresome social media sharing process by automatically syndicating your content to all your social media profiles. Even better – it’s free! A whole lot of different integrations are available and their database of integrations is constantly evolving, making life all the more simple for you.

With IFTTT you won’t have to jump around between Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr and what not just to share every new blog post you publish. Simply hook up your WordPress installation or website RSS feed to IFTTT and configure your settings and it’s all smooth sailing from there.

Cameron Pullano

SEO Content Creator - Falcon Marketing LLC.

For our social media management team, the first consideration when choosing a social media management tool is what type of business it’ll be for. Our clients are not limited to one type of business, so we’ve had to learn which social media platforms work best for each type of business. We do a lot of work with retail businesses, and for retail we find that Instagram is a more effective platform than others.

✓ Later
Our Instagram management strategy focuses on consistent posting throughout the day to keep followers engaged, so we use the tool Later to help us organize our scheduling. We prefer Later to other tools because it also allows us to post images to Facebook and Twitter for our clients that are on multiple networks. As a smaller marketing agency, we also like to use Later because it allows us to schedule many posts in advance at one time so there’s no slowdown. It’s also great that we can access it from mobile if we need to make some last minute changes or to make a time sensitive post when we’re away from the office.

William Taylor

✓ Tailwind
Our social media team uses Tailwind. It’s the best social media management tool for managing Pinterest accounts. You can even use it to schedule your Instagram posts.

The reason I like Tailwind is that it provides really detailed insights into your Pinterest account. Obviously Pinterest analytics are available for free, but Tailwind allows you to see your daily follower growth, how many repins you have altogether, and the engagement rate of your pins (so the percentage of pins you have shared that have also been repinned). It also offers a great feature: Tailwind Tribes. These tribes are similar to group boards, as you can share pins for other pinners to possibly schedule.

✓ Hootsuite
As the sole member of the Marketing Team at our small organization, time management is absolutely crucial. That is why I am so reliant on Hootsuite to manage our social media presence across our four core accounts. The tool allows me to monitor key feeds and engagements across our platforms, as well as schedule out similar content across multiple channels all in one go. This means I can batch our social media content creation, and significantly reduce the number of hours I spend in the networks each week, ultimately optimizing the ROI on my time across social. Highly recommend Hootsuite to anyone out there looking to streamline their social operations!

✓ Later
While this tool can schedule for multiple platforms, it’s really designed for Instagram. With the free account, businesses can schedule up to 30 posts a month and upload unlimited images (size is a restriction). It allows you to create hashtag groupings to make it easy for posting and has a built in emoji keyboard making it simper simple to create engaging posts.

Under a paid account, users get the ability to schedule Instagram Stories and can get access to hashtag suggestions.

✓ Creator Studio for Facebook
Creator Studio is Facebook’s own built in Scheduler, making is super easy on users to schedule directly to their Facebook pages and not having to worry about the program being a trusted partner. For me, it allows me to schedule to all of my client’s pages within one platform with easy to use search functions. Upload any sort of creatives into the scheduler and you’re ready to go! Because it’s by Facebook, you don’t have to worry about any component being missed or not having access to, as it is mirrored exactly as a native Facebook post would look like. Plus, its 100% Free to everyone.

Stacy Caprio

Founder - Growth Marketing

✓ Buffer
One social media tool I use to boost engagement is the platform Buffer which has allowed me to post at one time to schedule social posts across multiple platforms that go live at future times. It is a huge timesaver and allows for posts to go across all of social without much effort to boost engagement and views.

Nice article! Out of all the Instagram tools that I’ve used, I love using Planoly for auto-posting. I talk about this in my Planoly Review, but it offers a lot of functionality beyond just auto posting content, ranging from its hashtag discovery tool, built-in analytics dashboard, and even auto-posting videos and Instagram stories.
