Your website hosting provider should at least offer some basic features. Depending on your business and website, you might want to upgrade your account or hosting provider to include more features.
Things to consider
First, you have to make sure that the server they offer is fast and has a guaranteed uptime. Sometimes websites will temporarily be unavailable (for example due to server updates), and guaranteed uptime means that the web host limits this as much as possible.
Then, when you launch a website you will also need to SSL certificate. This shows that your website is safe to visit and is also an important ranking factor to have your website shown in search engines.
The easiest thing would be to purchase your domain via your web host. The domain is the website address (URL) that people type into their browser to visit your website. Most providers would offer this as an additional service (and some might even include this is the hosting package).
And lastly, you want to make sure the platform is user-friendly and that the web host offers things like automatic backups and friendly customer support. If you don’t have much knowledge of web hosting, this might make your life a lot easier going forward.

✓ Bluehost
Bluehost is the most reliable web hosting service when it comes to quality, performance and cost. Regardless of whether you’re after a blog or eCommerce webpage, their WordPress facilitating can assist you with achieving your objectives. It offers unlimited add on domains, email accounts, FTP accounts, and much more. A blue host uses Simple Scripts and offers a 1-click install of WordPress.
✓ SkySilk
SkySilk is a matchless US web hosting service provider. They have a full unrestricted Linux system out in the cloud just in $ 10 per month. You can run all your favorite services as there are no ports that are blocked, and no extra hidden charges to allow certain services.

Samuel Yang
✓ Vercel
Vercel is an incredible tool for hosting both React apps and static websites. I’ve done both, and have been 100% satisfied with the service. Plus, it’s completely free for small business purposes. Add custom domains, redirects, serverless functions, HTTPS, Git integration, and more without paying a cent. You pretty much only need to pay at the enterprise level. I’ve switched all of my static websites previously hosted on Github Pages to Vercel, because it’s way easier to manage them within one (beautifully designed) dashboard. As long as you already have a Github repository with your static website, you can literally deploy it on Vercel in 20 seconds. Vercel is super reliable, and has extremely fast hosting. Highly recommend.
✓ Webflow
Webflow is an incredible tool for building and hosting websites for businesses small and large. With plans starting at $12/month, it’s fairly cheap, and has a very intuitive interface. Plus, add forms easily, build a CMS system in 2 minutes, integrate with third-party APIs — anything you need to do, Webflow has it as a feature. Although Webflow’s primary purpose is a website builder, I’ve found that their web hosting service is sublime. Built-in, SEO management, team management, ultra-fast custom domain integration, edit Schema and OpenGraph meta tags, etc.. Never had a problem.
✓ Github Pages
Github Pages is kind of like a home-cooked meal. Reliable and good enough, but nothing too “wow”. The main issue with Github pages is that you can only set up 1 website per Github account. Nevertheless, it is very reliable, fairly fast, and somewhat easy to get started. Custom domain integration is a little bit of work, and you need to wait about a day to get HTTPS set up, but other than that, it’s easy to work with. Like I said, nothing extremely impressive, but I’m always willing to use it, although better options (like Vercel) exist.

✓ Amazon Web Services
We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) to host our website and the app. After having tried a few other providers, I think we are going to stick with AWS for long now.
Why we like it:
1) Very customisable – in terms of adding new services, increasing/decresing loads, taking back ups etc.
2) Lots of documentation available – both from official AWS sources as well as other blogs/videos, which make it easy to implement new things
3) Very cost effective- also you can minimise your spends with a bit of clever architectural setup
4) Very high uptime and consistently good speed
5) Excellent customer service – very quick to respond and make sure your problem is resolved
6) Pricing which suits me- and can be easily customised also depending on your needs
Drawback:
The paid customer service plan is a bit expensive in my opinion, especially when you rarely get to contact them once the system has been set up and running. If the Ads guys could make that a bit easily affordable, I would never leave the support plan.

Lily Ugbaja

Allison Chaney
✓ WP Engine
I would recommend wp-engine. I’ve hosted 100’s of websites in the last 20 years and it’s the most reliable and has amazing support.

Torben Lonne
✓ InMotion
I would personally recommend InMotion hosting as the best platform to host your blog. The number one feature I look for when shopping around for a hosting provider is the loading speed and reliability of their servers. Many hosting platforms offer similar features, but the devil is in the details as they say. If your website is down or slow to load up, you can lose potential visitors before they even get a chance to read your content. Hosting providers such as InMotion hosting take loading speed to the next level by offering lightning-speed SSD-backed servers, which is why I choose them as the best hosting platform.

Here are the 3 best web hosting services for small businesses:
✓ Bluehost
They are the most popular web-hosting company for new small businesses because they provide a low-cost hosting option. With a 3-year introductory price of $3.95 per month, they provide a free domain name for the first year, free SSL certificate, and one-click WordPress installation. The starting price is $3.99 per month with 2 websites, unlimited disk space, unlimited bandwidth, unlimited email, marketing tools, security suite, and free SSL certificates. Though they might be offering a little higher price than the others, the overall package shows how it is worth it especially for those who are looking for high-end service.
✓ HostGator
With the price of $2.75 per month, they promise to provide a single domain, one-click WordPress installs, free WordPress/cPanel Website Transfer, unmetered bandwidth, free SSL Certificate, and free domain. HostGator has some good offers for cloud hosting, especially if you value speed above all else.

Kevin Rodrigues
✓ Siteground
I think the best web hosting service for a small business is SiteGround. I’ve been using them for more than two years now without any problems. I find them good because they are inexpensive to start with. You can get a really big discount the first time you start with them. And keeping expenses low if a major part of a small business. SiteGround hosting also provides pretty good speed by allowing you to choose the location where you want your hosting to reside. So if you’re in the US, you can choose a US location. If you’re in Asia, you can choose Singapore. I also find their support to be extremely fast and efficient. They have always been able to fix any issues I’ve reported as soon as possible.

Jeff Lizik
✓ WPEngine
WPEngine is a solid hosting platform that makes it extremely easy to manage dozens of client accounts and websites from a single user dashboard. Built exclusively to host WordPress websites using the latest versions of PHP and mySQL, WPEngine keeps your website blazingly fast with built-in caching and an included CDN. Daily backups, staging and development environments, and an automated SFTP migration tool make website management a breeze for users at any level. For true developers, having seamless Git integration is a huge plus. Also, because things don’t always go as planned, knowing that WPEngine’s Tech Support team is available 24/7 to assist is refreshing. In the last 4 years I have never waited longer than a couple of minutes to chat with someone, and every single time the support person has been extremely knowledgeable and quick to respond.
✓ Pair
Pair definitely deserves to make the list as well. Pair’s pricing structure is very reasonable and their platform is both versatile and scalable. This is a great hosting platform to choose if you are a small business that needs more than just a website. Pair’s basic monthly plan offers unlimited domain hosting, robust email hosting, an SSL, software installation tools, malware scanning, and 24/7 never-outsourced customer support (datacenter in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania). All plans include a 100-Day Money Back Guarantee, which really just translates to them stating they stand behind their product. WP Engine is the company that we trust all of our agency clients website with. The have access to a global network of locations and have heavily optimised their hosting system for better performance and security with WordPress. Service and support are second-to-none in terms of responsiveness and friendliness.
The business is agency first, meaning if you run an agency they know how to serve you best.

If you are working with a hybrid WordPress & Drupal site network and want a managed solution, Patheon is hard to beat. Their dev-ops environment is best in class, customer service is excellent and the network performance and security is rock solid.
✓ Siteground
Siteground is an excellent entry-level solution for small website owners, hobbies and solo-entrepreneurs. The plans offer great value for money and is a great place to start if you do not have complex WordPress hosting requirements.

Anthony Martin
✓ WP Engine
By far the best web hosting company is WP engine.
Here’s why:
– They are faster at loading than all other hosts
– They automatically back up your site
– The highest levels of security in the industry
– Access to a staging site If your site doesn’t load fast, users will go to another site.
Having a backup of your site is critical however almost nobody remembers to do it manually. In the unfortunate event you need to access a backup of your site, not having it could make or break your business. WP engine does it automatically so you never have to worry your site can be comprised.
Hackers regularly try to gain access to websites for tons of reasons. WP engine has the highest levels of security in the business. Having your site hacked could result in untold damage to your business and/or your clients. It’s critical your site is protected.
Every website owner will make improvements to their site. Having a staging site allows a site owner to easily set up a mirror of their site they can use as a sandbox to implement changes to their site. You can employ all the changes to your staging site to make sure all the bugs are worked out and everything works correctly. Then when it’s all done, you can push all the changes live with the press of a button.

There’s no-one-size fits all answer to this question. Different businesses have different needs. The first thing your business needs to do is determine what your web development budget is. You can find hosting plans for as little as a few dollars a month to as much as hundreds of dollars per month..
Small businesses typically don’t have large budgets, so I’d recommend finding a hosting plan that isn’t too expensive.
✓ WP Engine
My favorite web hosting provider for any small business is WP Engine. One of the biggest reasons why I believe small businesses should choose WP Engine is their excellent customer support. Most small businesses owners don’t have the time or technical expertise to diagnose and fix website issues. Your WP Engine hosting plan includes access to world class customer support 24/7/365.
WP Engine plans also include access to the StudioPress catalog of WordPress themes. There’s sure to be one that’s perfect for your small business!

Peter Thaleikis
✓ Netlify
As a business owner, you are happy with anything, but another problem. Having a website is great, but worrying about building, maintaining, and hosting it isn’t what a business owner is after. Luckily, there are numerous services solving exactly this issue. A service such as Netlify comes with static website hosting for small websites and a great toolset such as CMS software for free. You can either pick an existing template or hire a web-designer to design a static site using 11ty or NuxtJS to your needs. Make sure to not get a WordPress or similar – with this you would keep all the previous issues – stick to static sites and save yourself the stress of keeping it updated, etc.

Ashish H Thakkar
✓ Crocweb
The web hosting service I would like to recommend is Crocweb.
Crocweb is a Canadian website hosting company and I have been using their hosting service for my small business for about 10 years now. The 2 reasons why I have continued with them and why I have chosen this web hosting company over others is the quality and the quick response time they provide. I was already happy with their uptime and their overall web hosting service but whenever I had any issues I opened a support ticket and it got answered either in minutes or a couple of hours max. I remember many years back I was so surprised by the quick response time they had for each and every ticket I created, I wrote a small post about it on my blog giving them 5 stars.

✓ HostGator
HostGator’s Business Cloud, for instance, delivers on the business basics with support for unlimited websites, unmetered storage and bandwidth, and a private SSL certificate.
As this is a cloud plan, three mirrored copies of your website are spread across multiple hosting servers. If there’s a hardware failure, your website can immediately be switched to another server.
All HostGator cloud plans give you shared access to a defined level of system resources (CPU time and RAM). Another benefit of cloud hosting is that you can purchase more of these and see the benefit immediately, with no downtime or time-consuming migrations required.
✓ DreamHost
DreamHost’s shared hosting plan scores well on the fundamentals. There are no limits on bandwidth, emails, or MySQL databases. Your site is secured by a free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate, and preinstalled WordPress allows you to get a quality site up and running in an afternoon – plus SSD storage as standard will keep performance high.
Handy extras include the ability to host unlimited domains from a single account. And in a nice touch, DreamHost doesn’t just offer a free domain name with each shared hosting plan (except the monthly plan): there’s free privacy protection, too. If you’ve registered a domain without that, and been inundated with emails and phone calls from ‘website designers’ and assorted scammers, you’ll know how valuable that can be.
✓ Hostinger
Hostinger has been around for a long time and over the years it accumulated over 29 million customers. The company above all has very wallet-friendly plans, and these are a great choice for any newcomers.
The pricing starts at just $0.9 (£0.99 for the UK) per month over the 4-year period. Seeing as this is a starter plan, you only get one website and one MySQL database with 100GB bandwidth, but with that price, you can’t really complain.
That being said, the best option for small businesses would be the “Business” plan which gives you lots of features as well as being four times faster than the starter plan. You get unlimited websites, databases, and bandwidth with 30GB SSD disk space. The price is $3.99 (£3.99 for the UK) per month over a 4-year period. As you can see, you don’t get many restrictions and SSL certificates, Cloudflare protection, and daily backups are also included, among other features.

Nico Perez
✓ Wix
The reason why Wix gets the top spot is because of it’s incredible website building tools. I am non-technical and managed to build 8 different websites with advanced apps using the wix app store.
✓ GoDaddy
No real surprises here. It has the most number of domains available at the cheapest price. If you’re non-technical like me, my top tip would be to buy the domain through GoDaddy and then transfer ownership over to Wix to build your beautiful new site.
✓ Squarespace
Perhaps the web hosting provider with the cleanest and sleek appearance. My friends have told me that if you run a small online store, squarespace is the best option as it allows shop owners to create ecommerce products quick and effectively.

John Donnachie
✓ WP Engine
Like many, many businesses we use WordPress to power our site and as a result the absolute best hosting software for us is WP Engine. Their hosting service is purpose-built to run as smoothly as possible with WordPress sites. Not only do they have great up time but they also have a suite of tools that are designed specifically for Word Press sites like speed optimization recommendations and a plugin manager tool. They are a little pricier than some of the other hosting options out there but in my opinion they deliver enough value that the price is worth it.

Werner Jorgensen
✓ HostPresto
This excellent web host service is not only problem solving but also helps in building, keeping your business up to date, and thriving to expand it. Hostpresto does all these tasks. It is not only a problem solver but also guarantees 4 months single-click backups. PhpAdmin, unlimited FTP accounts, a huge list of email addresses, free migration in case of those who are affected by the previous host provider, various MySQL databases, Cloudflare CDN, and PHP versions with SEO tools are all the key features associated with HOSTPresto services.
✓ Liquid Web
It is also an efficient web host service provider because they don’t completely dissolve their fully-managed services into shared but choose to split the primary functions, including the online stores or apps. These service providers follow a unique hosting plan according to which hundreds of Sysadmins become the extension to your team. It provides 59-second support with a 100% uptime. Their Managed WooCommerce plan is affordable and has no transaction charges having free upsells.
✓ Squarespace
Squarespace is the best web host service for those small businesses who are building a website from scratch and for those who don’t have any experience of content management. They have specially designed a template-touting idea for such businesses. Their business packages have unlimited bandwidth, including free domains, entirely focused integrated eCommerce, and SSL-security. These packages are considered as all-in-one packages because they allow users with all the facilities, including marketing emails, designing drink, and food menus, and selling products if you don’t have web-building experience, it’s perfect for you to try before purchasing a free trial.

Chris Kaiser
✓ Siteground
The best web hosting service for a small business is SiteGround. I tried about a dozen services before getting stuck with them, and I’m using them since about 4 years now.
They offer super fast hosting, even on the cheapest plan, but what really sets them apart is their outstanding customer service.
Especially small businesses don’t have a dedicated IT Team, so having a knowledgeable customer service at hand is incredibly valuable to get tech problems sorted out fast.

Aaron Smolen
✓ Hostinger
One of the better options when it comes to web hosting for small businesses is Hostinger. The company provides some amazing speed parameters, which is always much appreciated when you’re trying to run a small business online. Hostinger’s plans are also very affordable, and you receive access to WordPress upon purchasing a web hosting service from them – if you’re looking to relocate your website, WordPress is one of the better content management systems to do so.
✓ Bluehost
Also, BlueHost. This company has some of the better uptime statistics, and it’s obvious that uptime is one of the core features you’d be looking for when running an online business. BlueHost also has a variety of different hosting types, and all of the plans are priced very adequately.

Steve Moriarty
✓ Magemojo
Our small family owned jewelry business has a few ecommerce websites. Our absolute favorite hosting provider is Magemojo. We have been through at least a dozen hosting providers over the last decade. While they are not the cheapest, the customer service is amazing. Any time we have an issue with anything, we submit a ticket and hear back within an hour or two. This is unheard of with other providers we have worked with and is one of the most important aspects when choosing a hosting company.

Pranay Anumula
Usually while picking up the best web hosting service, we need to get an idea of how much-estimated traffic the website will be receiving & also the location of the target audience. This will help in getting specifications for web hosting regarding the server location & also the hardware setup.
✓ Hostgator, Bluehost & Siteground
If budget is an issue then shared web hosting service is the best option to start with, Hostgator, Bluehost & Siteground have some really good shared hosting options. The issue with shared hosting is the inability to handle traffic surge & also the site speed problem, this is where VPS has an edge over shared hosting.
As Google is giving more importance to fast loading websites, so it’s better to go with a VPS which will help in the long run, a bit expensive when compared to shared one but it’s worth every bit of it. For VPS, Digital Ocean & Vultr works best, both are unmanaged VPS, so you need a technical person to set it up, if that’s not the case then Cloudways offers managed VPS option.

Ayushi Sharma

Siteground offers website building with WordPress and Weebly making it one of the most convenient services. With Siteground users are able to get free email and 24/7 customer support. I recommend using Godaddy. They offer a lot of different options & several things are integrated. SSL, domain, hosting, & WordPress Hosting.

Matthew Woodward
✓ WPX Hosting
WPX Hosting has consistently performed well in both my speed and support testing. They have also hosted a number of my sites and have proved themselves to be trustworthy and reliable. However, if you want to have phone support then this is something they do not offer.
✓ Kinsta
Kinsta is the current host of my blog and has always been a solid contender in all my anonymous testing. They perform well across both speed and support every year.
✓ Pantheon
Pantheon were lightning fast in all the speed tests however they fell short in a couple of the other tests but they are definitely one to watch.

Bryan Sacks
When choosing the best web hosting service for your small business website, you want to consider the application first.
✓ Hostgator
For a site dedicated to hosting Hostgator is affordable, with a great service level. Hostgator has extremely fast server speeds with free site migration and installs.

Dylan Gordon
✓ WPX Hosting
While there’s many hosting options, there’s one that stands above the rest for small businesses. While a budget option such as Bluehost is cost effective in the beginning, WPX Hosting blows them out of the water when it comes to functionality! They offer free migration, lightning fast support, and daily backups. The customer service they provide should be more than enough reason to switch, they truly have experts who respond in seconds. On top of that, they have the fastest hosting I’ve ever tested – by far. I’d highly recommend choosing WPX Hosting as a small business owner!

Gabriel Bertolo
✓ Siteground
There are so many hosting services, and in my line of work, I have used most of them. One really stands out as my go-to, and that is Siteground.
My criteria are based on perks that are included, cost, and customer support. Siteground offers a lot of perks that other hosts upcharge for, especially the 2 large packages, GrowBig and GoGeek. Free SSL Certificate, Unlimited Websites, Free CDN, Free Site Migration makes Siteground a solid choice.
They also do not try to cram as many sites as possible on each server. This alone makes sites hosted on Siteground load faster than a lot of their other competitors. I had a clients site that was hosted on BlueHost and was taking about 6 seconds to load, I moved the site as it was to Siteground and the load time dropped to 21/2 seconds. That is a huge change.
The cost for what they offer is a great value. Especially if you lock in the intro price for the max of 5 years. But the reason I stay with them is the support. I’ve never waited longer than a few minutes for chat support, and they typically fix the issue for you if you are not knowledgable in what the solution entails.

✓ Bluehost
Bluehost is my top pick for those looking for WordPress hosting and it’s hosting services currently power over two million websites. Its basic shared hosting plans can be as little as $2.99 a month on a three-year contract with its WordPress plans starting at $20 per month.
Bluehost provides its customers with everything they need tocreate a website including a free domain, free SSL certificate and Weebly-based website builder. Its website builder is a bit on the basic side with a limit of just six pages but it is included for free. Those looking for a more robust solution can easily download a number of popular apps via a MojoMarketplace-powered system.
Bluehost automatically installs WordPress for you when you signup and experienced users can take full advantage of its cPanel support. The company provides 24/7 support over the phone but there is also a live chat option.
✓ HostGator
Houston-based HostGator is one of the best when it comes to value for the money and those looking for budget hosting will be impressed with its prices. What sets this provider apart from the rest is the fact that even its basic plan has few restrictions. The company doesn’t place any limits on bandwidth, disk space, MySQL databases, subdomains, FTP or email accounts.
HostGator also gives you a free website builder with around 100templates to choose from no matter which plan you decide on. If its drag and drop website builder isn’t enough for you, you can also add additional apps to your site using the company’s QuickInstall-powered one-click system.
HostGator provides cPanel-based management of your site and its99.9% uptime guarantee ensures that your webpage will remain online. Notable extras include being able to transfer your existing sites to the platform for free as long as you do so within the first month after signing up and $200worth of Google and Bing Ad credits for your site.
HostGator also offers a 45-day money-back guarantee which will give you plenty of time to try out its services for yourself.
✓ Hostinger
Hostingeris one of the biggest providers of free web hosting via its 000webhostingbrand, they have well over 30 million users and some of the lowest prices thanks to low running costs and overheads. They prefer to use their own technology (for example they have their own customised control panel instead of the ubiquitous CPanel) in order to have a tighter control on performance and features.
Its cheapest offer at the moment is an $0.80 (per month) web hosting package if you take a four-year contract, great if you want to kickstart a small online venture but still limited because there’s no SSL or domain name bundled.
Our preference goes to their business package which offers unlimited bandwidth, MySQL databases, GIT integrations, SSH, CloudFlare DDoS protection and email accounts plus daily backups (something others charge), 100GB SSD-based disk space – exclusively for TechRadar readers – and SSL, all for only $3.45 per month when you take out a four-year contract (that’s just under $166 and a saving of $600 or 78%).
You get a colossal number of features as well, too many to list here. The Business web hosting plan also delivers 4X processing power and memory, handy if you need a boost during peak trading period.

✓ Wix
I love using Wix for my business and clients. Wix is very user-friendly and has many visually appealing templates and website options to choose from. You can include galleries of images, videos, any documents and links, animations, and much more. It’s very affordable as well. I also like that it’s a one-stop-shop kind of platform. Meaning, you can purchase your domain, create your website and create an email address using your domain, all on Wix. No need to utilize different sites and platforms because Wix can handle it all for you.
